SAS Audio RoutersSAS manufacture high quality Audio Routers for main programme chains, distribution paths, monitoring and talkback. SAS has always focussed on Radio as its core business and the features incorporated into their designs reflect the needs of radio stations at all levels and in all markets. As such, SAS routing products are not just switchers but act as mixing matrices with variable gain interconnections and loopbacks that allow multiple outputs from a single output. Mark Thom, Managing of Broadcom says "We are very impressed with the professional design architechure of the entire SAS product range, especially the build quality of the routers and new digital mixers".The range of SAS Hardware products includes :-
32 KD - Audio Routing Frame A frame based system that accomodates up to 16 x 32 x 32 digital and/or analogue, audio interfaces plus modues for dual fibre ring connections, RS485, RS232 and Ethernet for remote control and configuration. The 32KD Frames may be interconnected to give literally thousands of inputs and outputs catering for IFBs and talkback as well as main programme routing. Crosspoint control can be via hardware panels or from remote IP through a Router Control Server. RioLink The RioLink is a 32 x 32 audio matrix that can interconnect to existing 32KD routers or operate as a standalone router. The RioLink includes its own control interface cards so it can operate entirely as a stand alone router, making it ideal for smaller installations, sub-matrices or as an emergency router.
| 16000 and 16000D(AES/EBU) | | | A 32 x 32 router with a built-in confidence monitor. This is a space saving 2U solution giving 32 x 32 crosspoints, with front-panel selection for control and monitoring. The 16000D is a digital version which offers 32 x 32 of AES routing. |
Router Control Panels | | AXC - 9, ANC - 8/8D 1U source to destination routing control panel with large, easy-to-read LED indicators and rugged control buttons | | APR -88 A 1U, easy-to-use, button-operated router control panel catering for 8 programmable sources. |
| CDS - 8 A single output, fixed selection control. Available in 1, 2 of 4 button 1 U panel versions. |
| PBS 16/32/64 A powerful panel that activates or dectivates routing at the press of a button. Built in a 1U high unit, 16, 32 and 64 button versions are available. |

Digital Consoles and Operating Surfaces
Rubicon / Rubicon SL Digital Mixers
The Rubicon mixers provide a control surface for the 32KD or RioLink routers. All controls are programmable and offer the users power and flexibility to deal with the most demanding of programmes. To the user, the console appears like any other, but is packed with the features offered by a modern digital mixer such as multiple source selection, flexible IFB control and extensive GPIO control. Rubi T A compact, turret mixer/unit designed for news and production workstations that require access to the functionality of a parent router such as a 32KD or RioLink. The Rubi T presents users with a familar selection of controls such as faders, talkback programmable source selection and routing, plus local headphone monitoring, metering, timers and clock timers. The RubiT is ideal for situations that need access to a central router and only basic operational features. |
