For X.21 type circuits where programme content is Stereo or Mono and ISDN is both available and required for Circuit fail backup purposes then the APT WorldNet Milano and APT WorldNet Ohio codecs are ideal. Each of these codecs offers both standard?apt-X??and Enhanced apt-X??for fast, rugged audio coding and the built in ability, which is user configurable, to both automatically fail over and recover due to circuit failure or programme content failure as set via the on board silence detector.
The APT WorldNet Milano offers 4 x ISDN BRI ports for full Stereo programme backup at up to 512Kb whereas a more cost effective backup solution is offered by the APT WorldNet Ohio offering 1 x ISDN BRI port for backup at up to 128Kb where Mono backup at 15Khz is suitable or 7.5Khz Stereo if preffered.
On X.21 type circuits where ISDN backup is either not avaialble nor required then the APT WorldNet Rio is ideal for Stereo or Mono programme content distribution. The Rio has the ability to feed 2 X.21 circuits and can automatically fail over (Backup) and recover between the circuits. As with the Milano and the Ohio codecs the Rio also has user configurable built in silence detection for programme content failure monitoring.
When moving up to multichannel programme distribution and transmission be it multiples of stereo pairs or surround sound 5.1 over E1/T1 or IP Ethernet circuits then the APT WorldNet Oslo?should be your codec of choice. The 3U frame size has many different card options ranging from but not limited to: duplex, simplex, analogue, AES audio and redundant AC and DC power supplies.
