Audio Consoles

SAS Sierra Automated Systems provide a range of professional digital mixer/routers, audio mixers and talkback systems, suitable for radio broadcasting, radio and telvision production, networked audio or venue audio systems.

Using the RIOLink unit, programme audio enters the system through high performance A/D interfaces or AES/EBU adapters. Outputs have their own independent DSPs: this approach negates the need to have common DSP 'farms' common in other radio mixers and which present a serious point of weakness. Indeed robustness and reliability are the foremost criteria in the design of all SAS equipment.

SAS offer three console control systems plus a versatile desktop turret design for smaller audio mixing, monitoring and control applications. The Rubicon is intended for larger installations or where programming demands a comprehensive set of facilities on the operating desk. The Rubicon SL on the other hand, is a smaller control surface intended for more basic work-a-day applications. That said, the modules available for the Rubicon SL are very adaptable. The Turret mounted unit is ideal for applications needing basic mixing, monitoring or switching functionality but where a small work area footprint is available, ideal for newsrooms, production offices or booths.

With the Rubicon, or the Rubicon SL control surfaces, very high quality components are used throughout, making them ideal for the toughest of operators. Solid but soft-action switches are used throughout with LED-cluster back lighting, or programmable text labelling. Even with the power of a digital audio environment at the operator's fingertips, SAS has maintained a classic familiar look and feel that makes the console very easy and comfortable to operate.
