Mayah IP Products from Broadcom
Mayah were amongst the first pioneers to introduce software implementations of the MPEG standard audio coding algorithms including the latest MPEG4 –AAC(LD). Mayah has launched a series of MPEG-4 Video codecs designed for sending low-bit rate, full screen SD PAL/NTSC pictures over IP Networks.
Mayah also integrate CODECs into other general purpose professional audio hardware such as the MERK II IP Audio OB mixer. Audio transmission in Europe is currently migrating from existing synchronized networks like E1 to packet based “Audio-via-IP” concepts. The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) is currently working on the appropriate recommendations, which will be particularly significant for the further interoperability of audio codec systems.
