SAS Audio Routing

32 KD Frame

The SAS 32KD is designed for professional audio routing applications where high performance and resilience is required. Input modules are available for analogue audio and AES/EBU digital audio and including IFBs. Crosspoints are much more than simple on/off interconnections, fading and dynamic gain control is possible making it ideal for complex network junctioning - a mixing matrix, in effect.

Additional routers can be added, all interconnected by dual-ring, high speed fibre data links for ultimate performance and robustness. This gives a freely expandable and flexible system that supports growing installations. Eack 32KD frame is supported by dual redundant power supplies and multi-drop RS485 interfaces for directly connected hardware control surfaces, GPIO interfaces and RS232 sub-routers. Additionally, the 32KD may connect to routing control server software, running on a PC that allows full remote control of switching via IP. A key feature of 32 KD is the ability for virtual DSP loopbacks of outputs, which makes dynamic effects and delay insertion very easy and also allows outputs to 'fan out' to other outputs thereby saving on outboard distribution amplifiers and permant wiring.

For smaller stand alone systems or where the router audio inputs are located away from the main 32 KD, the RioLink offers a 32 x 32 audio matrix. As with the 32KD, it may be connected to hardware - including intercoms (talkback) or to a Router Control Server and hence to IP clients.
